Possible National Coverage of LAUSD Payroll Problems

I received this promising email today from a producer at CBS. Please post your story so that we can get the much needed national media coverage. If you are interested in sharing your story on the news let me know and I will pass your information along.

Jill:

I am a producer with the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric and I'm working on the LAUSD teacher paycheck story. Marla Eby from UTLA gave me your e-mail address. We're looking to profile a teacher with a particularly acute personal financial crisis as a result of the paycheck mess. In your filming for your youtube posts, have you come across anyone that fits the bill (so to speak)? Or, do you know of any blogs where teachers are venting about the situation? My contact information is below. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

Sadly, there are many out there who have stories of financial hardship stemming from the payroll fiasco. They deserve to be heard. I hope the national media will give them a voice.

I keep on going back to what Mike Dreebin said, I hope CBS can quote this:

"They listened, took notes and then did nothing...."

There is not some complicated problem here, even though they knew, they didn't do the work.

The price tag of the software they had as 40 whereas it is 95+37 or 95+10+.1 something.

The report was a disservice to taxpayers as they did Not name names, thereby encouraging the evildoers to go onto to other public agencies as there are apparently no repercussions to them doing such a crummy job.

BTS had been told repeatedly that they needed to have paystubs and reports that were correct and understandable. Yet they "They listened, took notes and then did nothing...."

That's the story that should have been told.
